More than 60 participants including representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Education, of the regional administration, local bodies of state agencies and municipal officials, representatives of cooperatives, NGOs, trade unions, employers and schools took part at the event.
The social entrepreneurship and the social economy are relatively new direction of development, but at the same time it has its Bulgarian traditions in Bulgaria – namely the coopeatives, explained the ESC President prof. Lalko Dulevski. The social enterprise, based on the principle of solidarity, provides employment and it is aimed at solving community problems, rather than perusing only profit, said prof. Dulevski.
The social economy is in focus of Europe and ESC of Bulgaria has 4 opinions related to the development of social economy in the country. These opinions are taken into account by the Council of Ministers, the Presidency and the National Assembly.
