CHANGES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE ESC

The Chairman of the Managing Board of the Confederation of the Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB) Mr. Kiril Domuschiev becomes Vice-president of the Economic and Social Council. Mr. Domuschiev will represent the Employers’ organisations group in the President Board of the ESC. The candidature was supported by an absolute majority of the ESC. Kiril Domuschiev recently chairs KRIB and he is known entrepreneur and businessman. The Representation in the President Board of the ESC is in rotation and in groups.

The Chairman of the Governing Board of the Bulgarian Industrial Association Mr. Sasho Donchev was elected as a President of the Commission for Economic Policy. Sasho Donchev is known as a major businessman and entrepreneur, but also as a winner of awards like "An investor in education".

The Chairman of the Governing Board of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA) Mr. Vasil Velev was elected as a member of the Commission for Budget, Finances, Insurance and Social Security. As a new member of the Commission for Labour, Incomes, Living Standard and Industrial Relations was elected Mrs. Rumyana Georgieva - Parliamentary Secretary of BICA.

MISSION

“THE CIVIL PARLIAMENT” OF BULGARIA

is the “bridge” between citizens and the national government. Its mission is to support such “bridging” so as to facilitate the communication between the society and the national government. It is the new and modern institution of the civil dialogue.

The ESC's mission is to promote civil society organisations access to and involvement in the process of decision-making on strategic economic and social issues.

The main goal of ESC's operation is to enable different representatives of organised civil society to feel free to state their views whereas unanimity on matters of common interest is encouraged. The Council expresses and protects civil society interests by communicating agreed statements and proposals submitted by its members to the executive and legislative authorities.
