Working groups consisting of representatives of school graduates from ten schools in the municipality answered of two main questions: What changes are needed in the secondary education as to improve its quality and what should be changed in Pernik so as young people stay, work and live in their home city? Student’s ideas were presented to the ESC President prof. Dulevski, local authorities, representatives of employers’ and trade unions’ organisations, teachers and schools directors.

Prof. Dulevski presented to the students some points of the ESC analysis on Attitudes to Migration among Young Secondary-School Graduates in Bulgaria in 2015. He underlined that the three main reasons forming the attitudes to migration among young people are: finding a job, finding well-payed job and getting qualitative education. The lack of these conditions makes the 2/3 of young people seek them elsewhere. ESC conducts this survey and analysis for a second year among 2700 graduates in the country.

The meeting was positively estimated as a first step to a broader public dialogue with the young people.
