ESC calls for urgent development and adoption of National Strategy for Bulgaria's participation in Industry 4.0, which defines objectives, routes and policies and systematizes the participation and efforts of the society to achieve the necessary degree of competitiveness under the new conditions. In connection to this the ESC also proposes to elaborate National Strategy for Basic Digital Training. In this way, young people, who will receive adequate education and participate in the labour market with relevant knowledge and skills, will be able to realize and contribute to the economic development of Bulgaria. The EC initiative for a new European directive on work-life balance of parents and carers aims to formulate new measures and policies to solve problems arising from unequal women's participation in the labour market, as well as its consequences, such as lower pensions for women, higher risk of poverty, lack of work-life balance.
