The President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) Henry Malosse and the President of the Economic and Social Council (ESC) of the Republic of Bulgaria Prof. Lalko Dulevski participated in a public hearing on the “Policies to develop the backward regions”, which was held on 14th May in “East Hall” of the National Assembly.

The organised round table on the "Opportunities for development of the Rhodope region by using the European structural and investment funds and instruments of cross-border cooperation with Greece" by the Economic and Social Council (ESC) on 13th May 2014 in Smolyan brought together nearly 100 people - representatives of state and local authorities, business, social partners and NGOs in the region.

On 13 May at 9.00 pm in the town of Smolyan, in the hall of “Arexim” Ltd. a round table on the “Opportunities for development of the Rhodope region by using the European structural and investment funds and instruments of cross-border cooperation with Greece” will be hold. The event is organised by the Economic and Social Council (ESC) of the Republic of Bulgaria with the support of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), and special participation will have the EESC President Henri Malosse.

MISSION

“THE CIVIL PARLIAMENT” OF BULGARIA

is the “bridge” between citizens and the national government. Its mission is to support such “bridging” so as to facilitate the communication between the society and the national government. It is the new and modern institution of the civil dialogue.

The ESC's mission is to promote civil society organisations access to and involvement in the process of decision-making on strategic economic and social issues.

The main goal of ESC's operation is to enable different representatives of organised civil society to feel free to state their views whereas unanimity on matters of common interest is encouraged. The Council expresses and protects civil society interests by communicating agreed statements and proposals submitted by its members to the executive and legislative authorities.
