At its Plenary Session on 16 December 2016 the ESC adopted analysis on the Trends in migration attitudes of high school graduates in Bulgaria. The analysis was developed on the basis of an own survey held for the second time among the graduating secondary school students in the academic year 2016-2017. The first survey of the migration attitudes among the same students group was held by the ESC in the academic year 2014-2015.

Another meeting-discussion on the attitudes to migration among secondary-school graduates organized by the ESC was held at The National High School in Finance and Business. About 80 students, divided in three working groups, outlined the need of educational process improvement.

Working groups consisting of representatives of school graduates from ten schools in the municipality answered of two main questions: What changes are needed in the secondary education as to improve its quality and what should be changed in Pernik so as young people stay, work and live in their home city? Student’s ideas were presented to the ESC President prof. Dulevski, local authorities, representatives of employers’ and trade unions’ organisations, teachers and schools directors.

MISSION

“THE CIVIL PARLIAMENT” OF BULGARIA

is the “bridge” between citizens and the national government. Its mission is to support such “bridging” so as to facilitate the communication between the society and the national government. It is the new and modern institution of the civil dialogue.

The ESC's mission is to promote civil society organisations access to and involvement in the process of decision-making on strategic economic and social issues.

The main goal of ESC's operation is to enable different representatives of organised civil society to feel free to state their views whereas unanimity on matters of common interest is encouraged. The Council expresses and protects civil society interests by communicating agreed statements and proposals submitted by its members to the executive and legislative authorities.
