ESC received a letter from the Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources in the EC Günther Oettinger, in which he thanked for the resolution sent by the Bulgarian Economic and Social Council dedicated to the forthcoming discussion and adoption of the EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2021-2027. In his letter, the Commissioner expressed gratitude for the support of the Bulgarian Economic and Social Council for building an even stronger and fairer Europe and emphasized his high appreciation for the ESC resolution.

In accordance with its many years of practice regarding the European strategic documents, ESC sent its act on the European Green Deal to the European institutions - European Parliament and the Bulgarian MEPs, the President of the European Commission and the relevant commissioners. ESC was the first institution in Bulgaria to adopt a position on the European Green Deal, and in the process of development held a consultation with Bulgarian EU Commissioner Maria Gabriel.

The Economic and Social Council /ESC/ adopted an analysis “The Problems of Performing and Receiving Payment for Night Work in Bulgaria”. The purpose of the act is to draw attention of the institutions to the specifics of the night work in our country related to the nature of this type of work, as well as to some consequences and risks to the health of workers. Night work payment is also a major focus of the analysis.

The ESC's mission is to promote civil society organisations access to and involvement in the process of decision-making on strategic economic and social issues.

The main goal of ESC's operation is to enable different representatives of organised civil society to feel free to state their views whereas unanimity on matters of common interest is encouraged. The Council expresses and protects civil society interests by communicating agreed statements and proposals submitted by its members to the executive and legislative authorities.
