“The European Social Plan is also a tool for absorbing European funds… We hope to have a national solution for projecting the plan into a national plan. The real steps are also important. The challenges in Bulgaria are great.” This was said for the programme “12+3” by the President of the Economic and Social Council ZornitsaRoussinova.

The European Commission has adopted a plan for the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights. It includes poverty reduction, more jobs, employment training. The priority areas will be in the focus of the member states in the next ten years. The plan will be discussed by the members of the Bulgarian Economic and Social Council and Deputy Director General of the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission Adriana.Sukova.

Roussinova also announced that the Economic and Social Council will make a full review of the forms of telework resulting from the coronacrisis, their effects on the labour market and the gaps in the legislation.

“Not only in education but also in other sectorsthecoronacrisis imposed telework as the main form of work, which is not well regulated in labour legislation, but before making proposals for changes, we need to make analyses… We need to see what are the effects of telework, how it affects the psycho-social state of a person, what needs to be done, because it is impossible to ignore that this reflects on the labour market, working conditions and everything else. “

ESC opinion is expected in April on the impact of measures to support businesses and employees during the pandemic:

“We believe that immediately after the elections, such an analysis would be useful to both the next parliament and the next government. The big challenges before us will be to restore economic and social life and contain the surge of unemployment”.
