Dr. Yanka Takeva has been the Chairperson of the Association “Public Women’s Parliament – 21st Century” since its establishment in 2001.

She has served as the President of the Union of Bulgarian Teachers at the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) since 1994 and is a member of the Executive Committee of CITUB. Since 1995, she has also chaired the National Committee for Work with Women, Youth, Children, and Families within CITUB.
She has been a member of the Economic and Social Council (ESC) of Bulgaria since its founding.
