Ognyan Atanasov is Vice President of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CSTB) since May 2022.

He has been proposed as a member of ESC in connection with his expert work in the field of occupational safety and health and ecology. Both of these themes have become particularly relevant in 2020 in relation to the COVID-19 epidemic and Green Deal initiatives. He has participated as rapporteur in a number of opinions and analyses on ESC.

It has published works on European OSH legislation and COVID-19 workplace protection measures to help employers and workers.

He graduated in geography, majoring in hydrology, at the University of St. Kliment Ohridski”, as well as a master’s degree in economics from Paisii Hilendarski University.

He has been a member of the Economic and Social Council since 2021.
