The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) has officially announced the launch of the 16th edition of its Civil Society Award.
The aim is to recognize initiatives by individuals, civil society organizations, or private companies that have made a significant contribution to promoting European identity, European values, and European integration.
The special theme of this year’s edition is “Combating Poverty in the EU.” The prize, totaling 30,000 euros, may be divided among up to three winners. It will recognize nonprofit initiatives that effectively combat poverty by reducing the effects of material deprivation, improving the economic and social inclusion of people living in poverty, and creating a supportive environment that prevents and protects against poverty.
The deadline for submitting applications is November 6, 2026. The awards ceremony will take place during the EESC’s Civil Society Week in the spring of 2027.
