Prof. Petar Stefanov is Chairman of the Central Cooperative Union.

He holds an MA in Economics from the University of National and World Economy and a PhD in Economics from two renowned universities – the Russian University of Cooperatives in Moscow and York University, USA.

He is President of the World Organization of Consumer Cooperatives, a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Governance Committee of the International Cooperative Alliance, and a member of the governing bodies of a number of other national and European organizations.

He has represented the CCC in the Economic and Social Council as a member since 2008.
