Valery Apostolov is the Confederal Secretary and Chairman of the Higher Education Trade Union of the Confederation of Labour “Podkrepa” (CT “Podkrepa”).

He has a master’s degree in law. He has specialised in the field of social policy and social security in Denmark, USA, Switzerland. He has a number of publications and contributions to projects in the field of economics and labour organization.

He is a lecturer at the University of National and World Economy, Department of Human Resources and Social Protection and an active lawyer at the Sofia Bar Association. He was Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Manager of the Working Conditions Fund, Member of the Supervisory Board of the National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration, Deputy Chairman of the Court of Auditors of the Republic of Bulgaria.

He has been a member of the Economic and Social Council since 2021.
