Ofelia Kaneva is a doctor of educational management, sociologist and public figure.

She graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy at Sofia University “St. Clement Ohridski”. Ophelia Kaneva’s professional career started in 1999 and included various positions, including expert in the team of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Deputy Mayor of Sliven Municipality, Director of Child Protection in the Social Assistance Agency, Chief Director in the Employment Agency, Head of the Medium-Term Framework Investment Programme, Audit and Methodological Support for Social Services, Chair of the State Agency for Child Protection, analyst and lecturer.

He is the founder of the first school parliament in Bulgaria.

Winner of the Academy’s Leadership Award for fighting the status quo and apathy in society.

He teaches at Plovdiv University, Sofia University, Forestry University and other higher education institutions.

He has been a member of the Economic and Social Council since 2021 and is chairman of the Committee on European Policies and European Process.
