Luboslav Kostov

Dr. Lyuboslav Kostov defended his doctoral dissertation in 2019 with a research focus on labour and wage dynamics, earning a PhD in “Political Economy: Macroeconomics and Microeconomics.”

Since 2021, he has served as Chief Economist of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) and Director of the Institute for Social and Trade Union Research and Training, as well as a member of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation. In 2022, he was also appointed member of the Advisory Board of the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB).

Since 2019, Dr. Kostov has been a full-time lecturer at the Department of Economics at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), where he teaches courses in Human Capital, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Labour Remuneration, and others. His main research interests include labour markets, digitalization, inequality, fiscal policy, and collective bargaining. He is the author of numerous academic publications in these fields, as well as a variety of analytical and opinion pieces.

From October 2015 to May 2019, he served as an alternate member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels, Belgium, participating in the Economic and Monetary Union & Economic and Social Cohesion (ECO) and Transport, Energy, Infrastructure and Information Society (TEN) committees.

He is fluent in English and German.
